About Me

Alison SimpsonLet me introduce myself in case we haven't met yet.

It is my firm conviction that if decent, capable 'ordinary' people are not prepared to step up to the task, then politics is truly broken, so here I am.

I joined the Liberal Democrats in 2017, standing that year for Council Election in Banff out of extreme frustration with our Tory and SNP elected representatives.

Born and raised in Sutherland, I have lived and worked on the Banffshire and Buchan Coast all my adult life.

Over a period of 24 years as a community economic development specialist, I have consulted, researched, advised and led on many and various shared enterprises, from Cancer Care facilities, to Community Transport and Harbour Trusts. This has been a huge privilege for me - and we've celebrated many enduring successes.

Close to home. I've also supported loved ones through mental illness and dementia - and I'm determined that, in the febrile climate of Brexit and discontent with the Union, the services we'll need in the years to come will be solid and effective. I've surely counted on them.

Armed with the facts and a cause, I'm very hard to ignore.

Give me your vote. I will stand up for this place, our people, our jobs and our services, for Scotland and all who need our help.
