By Alison Simpson

Alison SimpsonI'm 57, from Golspie (just across the Moray Firth) and have lived here all my adult life, landing in Deskford at the age of 23. Home is now near Sandend. My daughter was born in Buckie and both kids went to school in Portsoy and Banff.
Mark, my husband and I have been involved in lots of local activity over the years, from the out of school club to community drama.
For most of this time I worked from home, but the last three years I've worked in Fraserburgh, and loved it.

I'm a community and social enterprise specialist. I've contributed to local projects, developing a variety of events and facilities - including the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival, Whitehills Marina and Banffshire Community Transport operation, plus many others right across the North East.

I am proud to have been a part of many enduring success stories, ensuring that local residents can own and maintain community assets, with a real say in issues that matter to them.

I throw myself wholeheartedly into whatever I do - and believe I've built a reputation for effectiveness, integrity, and authenticity.
